The Wenger Remodel

This remodeling project was truly special because the original farmhouse was built by the Nate Kauffman’s great-great-grandfather. To honor that history and maintain the home’s unique charm, we went the extra mile. We crafted a custom hickory stand to hold the original farmhouse sink, which was carefully resurfaced and reinstalled in the new kitchen. This helped preserve the home’s classic feel while giving it a fresh look. The result is a farmhouse that not only kept its deep sentimental value but also gained more space, perfect for a busy farm family. Now, it features a convenient mudroom for shedding boots after chores and an expanded kitchen that’s great for relaxing and entertaining.

One of the main challenges was creating a more open floor plan while still keeping the farmhouse’s original charm. This involved adding new beams and opening up the kitchen space. On the exterior, we needed to find vinyl siding that offered an updated look but still fit the traditional farmhouse style. We’re proud of how we balanced these challenges, creating a home that respects its past while embracing modern comfort and functionality.
